A night withJulio Cesar
The same Italian kitchen and wine list that fuel pre-theatre dinners — one evening given over to auction lots, Saints Foundation donations, and pours from Puglia.
Max's is an Italian restaurant first: antipasti through primi, handmade pasta where the menu calls for it, and a wine list led by Italy. In January 2025 that room hosted Julio Cesar and Max Romano for a Saints Foundation fundraiser — Italian wines on the table, the pass at full tilt, and the Mayflower a few steps across Commercial Road for anyone who had caught a show earlier or was heading out late.
Before and after the curtain
Most weeks we are pacing two turns around theatre times — bread on the table, primi away before the bell, espresso if you are straight back to your seat. The Julio evening used the same dining room and the same Italian-led list; the difference was the auction energy and the charity focus, not the hospitality rhythm.
What was in the glasses
Julio Cesar Fiano Bianco and Julio Cesar Rosso del Salento — the Wine of the Champions — sat alongside the rest of the Italian wine list. Proceeds from selected lots went to the Saints Foundation while the kitchen kept sending the food you expect from a serious Italian brasserie.
